ozaOS is a vault of notes on your own computer: what you decided, how a system behaves, what comes next. A daemon keeps it, labels every note, and answers a question in a full sentence. The same vault is a tool your coding agent reads and writes through MCP.
One install brings all three, and one line brings them up to date. They find each other through a file the daemon writes when it starts, so nothing is configured by hand.
Search does not return a list of matches and leave you to read them. It reads them itself, judges each one against the question, and says how sure it is.
A question or a claim, the way you would put it to a colleague. Scoped to one workspace, or to everything you have written.
Vector and full-text search together, each hit checked by a relevance engine. It always answers, with a verdict and a confidence.
strong, weak or none. A strong one comes with the notes in full; a weak one says what it found and offers the full walk.
Every workspace searched, top down: today, this week, this month, older months — descending from the summaries to the notes they cover.
The daemon listens on the loopback address. Nothing leaves the computer unless you point an agent at it, and the keys it needs for labelling are read from the system keychain.
On macOS the desktop app is a Homebrew cask and brings everything with it. Elsewhere ozc comes first, by a script, and installs the rest.
once, before the first install: make the tap known to Homebrew
brew tap ozaco/apps https://github.com/ozaco/apps
the desktop app; the daemon, the command and ozc come with it
brew install ozaos
The daemon speaks MCP. Claude Code, Codex and any client that speaks Streamable HTTP search the vault before answering and write down what they learn. The line below is printed, with your token filled in, by the window and by the command.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user ozaos http://127.0.0.1:39217/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer <token>"
The token is the vault’s own; see ozc for how the command is installed where there is no desktop app.
